Digbeth’s canal-side party, the Warwick Bar Summer Fete, returns for a third year. This edition is a celebration of cycling, creativity and good cheer with Pod Projects’ Bicycle Basket Bazaar – a unique array of retailers who will be cramming their wares into bike-baskets and pannier-racks – as well vendors selling handmade & homemade goods and vintage wares. The bazaar will take place in the convivial and lively atmosphere of the wonderful Edible Eastside garden project.
Continuing the cycle theme, Vivid Projects take over Warwick Bar’s impressive industrial spaces with a series of bike powered art experiments with the public providing their own sketches and pictures to create light projections on a massive scale. To counteract this technology, there will be a bike tea salon.
With Digbeth’s finest cultural agencies opening their doors, Grand Union, Stryx, Edible Eastside, Harris Moore Canvases and RoguePlay Theatre all offering a packed programme of workshops and activities for budding gardeners, filmmakers, painters and dancers, as well as exhibitions, film screenings, acoustic music and aerial acrobatic performances.
Newcomers to the event include PEA (Polish Ex-Pats Association) with a weekend event of screenings including films by provocative polish artist Artur Zmijewski. Martyna Lisiewicz is also programming an eclectic selection of acoustic music and to keep you fueled up for all the fun activity, there will be will an array of local fancy street food. With Master of Ceremonies Nonny Warn and live art performers Homes for Waifs and Strays welcoming the public, Warwick Bar Summer Fete is the place to be on the 26th July.
