Warwick Bar Summer Fete 14 July – invitation to participate

2012 celebrates our first year of activities at Warwick Bar. To mark this occasion and encourage the sun to keep shining, we are holding a fete aimed at attracting families and friends to enjoy a FREE afternoon of arts, music and performance whilst indulging in freshly cooked locally-produced food and enjoying plenty of waterside entertainment. Ikon’s Slow Boat, Grand Union and Edible Eastside are some of the well respected tenants of Warwick Bar and central to its programming so expect the best of culture, food and activities. Working with Digbeth Residents Association to market the event to local business, arts and the public, we are expecting high levels of attendance.

We would like to invite you to join us in extending a range of programmed family-friendly activities.

a) would you like to take a stall at Warwick Bar’s summer fete?

As this is the inaugural fete, we will be charging £10 for a trestle table 6’ x 2.6’. We wish to attract;

  • locally produced food outlets; African Caribbean, Indian, Thai and other cuisines would be welcomed
  • arts and crafts, artists books and printed goods stalls, bric-a-brac or vintage
  • recycled goods, ‘green’ services and social enterprises
  • and the unexpected that offers something new for families and local people.

There are a limited number of stalls due to the space, so we will ask you to complete a short application form prior to final confirmation.

b) interested in performing?

We are looking for musicians, dancers, poets, live arts, street performers and choirs who want to offer a set of maximum 30 minutes on one of the small stages across the site. Your act will need to be acoustic and suitable for a wide range of audiences. We are not able to offer a fee.  Whilst we will look to ensure that all artists are billed to attract maximum audiences, we are not intending that people will be seated formally.

c) can you help out on the day?

If you would like to give your time in support of the Summer Fete, we are looking for people to help set up and steward the event. We would be looking for people to offer a maximum of 4 hours on the day so that there would still be time for you to enjoy the proceedings.

If you want to participate, please register at info@warwickbar.co.uk and we will get back to you to confirm all necessary arrangements. Updated information will be posted onto www.warwickbar.co.uk so keep an eye on the site.
